| nice things about paris thus far |

1. the bikes. there is an automated bike rental service. you pick up a bike, ride along, and deposit it at your destination. the terminals are spread across the city with one about every five blocks. the bikes are three-gear, have pedal-powered lights, and a front carriage. very useful! i have much enjoyed roaming around the city.
2. the weather. dry, between 60 and 80.
3. the details. walking through the jardin du luxembourg in the morning sipping on an espresso. night-time drink at a sidewalk bar on rue de rennes, with the cool evening air, passersby, and ample reading light. the font on the street signs. the view from the pont des arts. returning footballs that come my way. crepes with nutella. |

You'll have to let me know how it was. I'll be back in the Bay sometime around Memorial Day Weekend - we can grab a beer or something.
Yeah that sounds good to me. I'd love to hear about Napolean from an expert. He's kind of a big deal here.
but they hate our freedom
last time i checked, you hate our freedom. specifically, my freedom to steal your music collection.
i thought you've been stealing my music, since they are all sitting in the open, in the living room
it is not goatland when it is missing a goat
so it's been chinchilla land? i see he has a new cage now
Where are you staying? I'm going to Paris in about a month.
I am staying at http://www.hoteldanemark.com/. They are very nice and the room is quite good given the proximity to all the major sites. Room is big, staff are friendly and helpful. Im sure you could find a better deal if you look, though, but with the dollar what it is you need to be willing to shell it out.
Hey, welcome to Europe! How long are you staying?
Until Monday. Hopefully this will be enough time for me to reboot my brain. It really needs it; the operating system is quite archaic. | |
